This workshop is a core class in our School of Sound curriculum, and we’re happy to open it to the public.

Instructor: Michelle Klein
Registration Fee: $200

Course Description:

Begin your journey to becoming a trauma-informed practitioner with this comprehensive introductory workshop. Learn about trauma, what trauma-informed care consists of and how to apply it to the practitioner/client relationship and interactions. Explore how loving-kind awareness of our own trauma-responses and that of others can help us build a foundation as a trauma-informed practitioner.

Course Objectives:

  • Challenge common myths through learning about trauma and providing care in a  trauma-informed manner.

  • Learn what happens in our body/mind as a result of trauma, including how the body holds trauma.

  • Learn about the window of tolerance and begin to explore what it looks like when we and others are in the window of tolerance or not.

  • Identify some ways that trauma can reveal itself in the practitioner/client experience.

  • Learn the foundational aspects of providing trauma-informed care.

  • Begin to identify how to apply these aspects to different stages of your professional practice.

  • Identify how you can continue to grow as a trauma-informed practitioner.
