Sound Bath with Shelby Lew

  • Rooted in Sound 209 Commercial Avenue Pittsburgh, PA, 15215 United States (map)

Instructor: Shelby Lew

Come visit us and experience one of the world’s oldest wellness practices-sound healing delivered by Pittsburgh’s own “Rooted In Sound”.

Using gongs, therapy grade himalayan singing bowls, voice, and a compliment of instruments; “Rooted In Sound” will use sound to create space for a deep meditative state - sending vibrations through your entire body to promote relaxation.

Within this relaxed state attendees report an array of outcomes ranging from deep sleep to a flood of inspired and creative thought.

Participation is limited to 10 people and will take place in our new space at the Green Heiress

Shelby Lew

For Shelby, it was love at first breath when she initially stumbled into mindfulness. She found a practice that benefits the entire body, but more importantly a place to clear the mind for stillness and growth. She has been honored to be able to share this amazing practice in different ways since 2016. She bought her first singing bowl and rainstick shortly after that, and a deeper relationship to sound was born.

During one of her sound baths, expect a thoughtful layering of gongs, singing bowls, tongue drums, chimes, and rainsticks intended to create a calming, yet uplifting experience.

Shelby aims to instill grounding, accepting, and freeing energy into her offerings with a special emphasis on stress release for a renewed thirst for life. She's experienced what a powerful tool meditative practices are to finding balance, a true sense of self as love, and a clear direction forward. Through guiding meditation, facilitating different sound healing practices, and  leading yoga classes, she hopes to support others with their journeys inward, outward, onward, and upward.

As a life-long learner and seeker, additional education is always a focal point. An honor on the horizon is her completion of certification through The Tibet House in January 2026 as a Mindfulness Meditation Instructor.
